90-Second GF High-Protein Bread

DESCRIPTION
Avoiding refined carbs? Intolerant to gluten? This 5-ingredient, gluten-free, high-protein bread is for you. Best part? It is “baked” in the microwave in 90 seconds!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp almond flour
- 1 tbsp grated parmesan
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp oil (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a microwave-safe bowl or ramekin, add all ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Microwave on high for 90 seconds.
- Let bread cool slightly, then tip it out and cut into slices using a serrated knife.
- Serve as is, or toasted, with desired toppings. Enjoy!
NOTES
- The oil is optional. The bread will still rise and cook as normal without the oil, but will come out a little bit drier.
- You may substitute almond flour with coconut flour, peanut flour or hazelnut flour. Note that if you use coconut flour, the bread will have a slightly sweet coconut taste to it.
- You may substitute parmesan cheese with grated cheddar cheese.
- Cooking time may vary depending on your microwave.
