I have a problem when it comes to abs exercises. I often feel like I'm using my back instead of my core to - for example - rise my legs (while laying down) or sth. And then my back hurts đĽ Any advice what can I do to ,,use" my core muscles more?

Some people put their hands under their bum but you can and should squeeze your glutes too to stabilize your lower spine. (edited)

Know the problem. When i do exercises where i lay on my back i place my hands under my ass. It helps me to use my abs and to relieve the pressure of my lower back. Maybe it will help you to :) Of course it works just by exercises you don't use your arms

I had the same problem and my solution was: doing the exercise slowly, so I could feel every muscle I use. It might help you to start feeling your core âĽď¸
