Does anyone have any quick fixes for a day of oily/deep fried eating?

So I've got a Big Work Event this weekend and at said event almost all the food is from food trucks so it's either incredibly sugary or entirely just deep fried. I'm NOT worried about the calories, I didn't go too far overboard and I don't really care if I did anyway since it's just an annual event and I don't normally eat like this.
But I feel like absolute garbage from all of that food. I feel so gross. I don't know how to describe it but it's Not Fun. Does anyone have any good ways to get rid of this feeling or just kick start the body into feeling normal? Any good resets or quick cleanse ideas? Or work outs to do?
So far today I've just had my normal breakfast protien shake with cold brew concentrate thrown in, and I'm drinking sweetend rasberry green tea.
Any advice would be super appreciated! 💖

Drinking a lot of water. And honestly eating blander or easier to process meals helps. Like oatmeal. Or a rice and avocado burrito. Sometimes fresh juicy fruits like watermelon, grapes, strawberries.

I just got back from a four day “vacation” where i was visiting my cousins and every meal was basically some kind of cheese and icecream every night. I felt soooo gross and was annoyed by the fact that i was hungry the whole time. Im use to eating more vegetables in my meals. First day back and after sleeping a lot i drank water. Had my usual protein smoothie. And now im gonna eat some easy bean and rice burritos to hopefully make my tummy feel better

Thanks for the advice! I think I got a good 8 cups in today but failed to get the regular gallon I'm use to because the second day of the event was today. I to have overnight oats I need to eat, so I'll try that tomorrow! Thanks again 💕

Cheat days can actually help you stay out of metabolic adaptation and help you lose weight as long as you continue being a deficit afterwards, so I wouldn't worry too much if you've been consistent! As for the fried foods, i find personally that adding vegetables and high-fiber snacks help me a lot. That and fruits, too. I got acid reflux so I know the feeling fried food can give you lol. Whatever you choose to do though, I hope you enjoy the event!

I've got GERD so I get reflux issues to but thankfully it's nor been too bad. But thank you for the advice! I try to incorporate the refeed method into my life currently for the metabolism issues you mentioned ☺️ I'm not a fan of calling it a cheat meal or cheat day, because I don't like the word and I believe words have power. The connotation is dirty to me and genuinely, it's not really "cheating." Idk if that makes sense, but thats how I feel about it.

i actually haven't heard anyone call it refeed before but i think that's what i'll start calling it now! it feels so much better than calling it 'cheating' even though that's what i've been told to see it as for so long. thank you for this!

Happy to help pass it along! I also learned about it from someone else on this app and did some research and was like "ohhh that's genius" 😅 from what I can tell there's refeed days or weeks, I like the week option for a more complete reset 💜 (edited)

Watermelon helps me with just about anything relating digestion, especially cold as it sooths my stomach .. hydration, fiber and a bit of sweetness with low calories that doesnt weigh on your stomach but still keeps you full :)

Thanks so much for the advice! I'll grab some watermelon at the store today! It's so delicious anyway and It's so good for all the reasons you mentioned. I think I'll pick up some Papaya if they have it because it's also great for fiber too (but much more volatile than the 🍉)

Crush up plain rice crispy cereal and use it to coat chicken and bake for "fried chicken"

Yessss I have some of that still in the cubbord. Thanks for the advice! I'll have to use it for something soon. I bought it for a "crispy tofu" recipe so very similar to your crispy chicken recipe I think 😋

The green tea I had was iced but I did already feel much improved after finishing it! I think I'll grab some green tea concentrate at the store! Maybe some actual tea leaves too 🤔 but idk its too hot for hot tea sometimes 😅 I don't think the raspberry does anything, but I loveee the flavor with green tea, it just tastes like flowers or something magical to me ✨️ Thanks for understanding and the advice!💕 (edited)

You don't have to feel gross or guilty, once in a while a cheat day is nothing wrong and it can even boost you in losing weight. Especially if you normally really reduce, your metabolism can start to slow down and a small treat can tell the body it has nothing to worry about. :) especially if it's an annual event!

Yes! I agree with everything you said :) I do try to do a bit of a refeed method to keep my metabolism in check when I hit a plataue, so I'm glad you brought that up!
But yeah I'm not feeling guilty, just physically gross. All the advice here should help though I think! 💖

I have Very Tricky Digestion and I find using the little ginger juice shots can sometimes be helpful when I'm in a situation like that, both during and after. If you're fancy and have a juicer, you can juice ginger root. You can also grate it and press the juice out.

In my experience, it's getting back to foods I know are easy on my system, ginger, and time ♡

Thank you so much for the advice! I'm going to head to the store and pick up some ginger shots then! I'm gonna get ingredients for a big salad too for tomorrow because they usually help me feel better (I think salad might be becoming my comfort food 😅)
