Broke my consistency because of working out wrong?

Ranting here, I was consistently working out for 4 months! I lost weight as well even if it was slow.
I don't have a problem with slow progress because i know that's more sustainable and everything takes time. BUT
This period cycle i took a break. It was not just because of the period but i have been experiencing SOME problem with my hips and im pretty sure it's because i did something wrong with SOME workout once.
I don't remember the workout but one day i felt soreness in my upper thigh and hip joint, didn't think it was a big deal and continued to workout. After 2-3 days my hips (somewhere betwen the lower back, inner and upper thigh) started making a tick tick tick noise EVERYTIME i walk. I thought it'll go away but it's been there for 3 weeks now and it's really pissing me off. I don't know what to do. I thought taking a break would stop the noise but no there's no improvement, BUT i don't have anyy kind of pain. I have also noticed that my right leg (the problem leg/hip) is not as flexible as before and it's a little stiff.
Im scared that if i continue to even walk more or workout, even if ot doesn't hurt me, I'll do some damage to my body.
I went to a physiotherapist and she wasn't helpful. I don't know what to do.
