Fitness Discussion

Hey everyone ~

So basically I've been trying to hit 10k steps goal everyday but I don't have a treadmill or a walking pad right now (I'm planning to get one so if you have any recommendations please!)
Anyway, I've noticed that my watch is counting steps while I walk in place without using other walking device..
My question is: does that ACTUALLY count in my steps? 
My watch is Galaxy Fit 3
