Need some help deciding on which mat to purchase. Both are Yo Gorilla mats, and both have their pros/cons.
The items I'm choosing between are the 7' x 4' (8mm thick) and the 7' x 5' (6mm thick). I like the wider width on one, but the thicker material on the other. Weight-wise there is only a difference of 4 lbs.
Right now I'm using a mat I purchased in the 90s (which may or may not have come with the option of buying the matching headband and legwarmers. ha! ). I call it the "slippery and stupid but better than the hardwood floor" mat.
I'm leaning towards the larger width mat, but want to know if there is any real benefit to getting the thicker mat? I normally wear shoes when doing Chloe's exercises (too heavy to go without right now), but need extra cushion for whenever I do exercises that require you to be on your knees.
Since I have this large area that falls into the category of "put something there and it gets in the way" useless space that I made useFUL by designating it as my exercise space, it allows me to go with a larger portable mat that I can use half for floor and half for standing exercises.
Do you think it more beneficial to get the thicker mat? Or should I go with the wider mat and get a knee pad for those few exercises that require kneeling.
Thanks!
