Gaining weight on a program

I am doing the 2022 summer shred program (currently on day 9) and i’ve noticed i’ve gained over a kilo of weight. I know it’s not much and weight fluctuates naturally but i can’t help not feeling discouraged. In the last few months before starting the program i had gained around 5 kilos seemingly out of nowhere. The only lifetime changes i can think of is exams (lot of late nights studying and sitting in front of a laptop all day) and summer break (no sport hobbies, i normally would excercise around 6h per week) but i’ve walked a lot more on break than normally.

I’m 17 and female and my weight’s been around 70kg for the last couple years. In march i think i was around 73kg, which is more than i’d like but still fine. I’m not a fan of scales but in the beginning of the challenge i stepped on one and found out i was 76,7kg, which was a big surprise. Now i’m 77,9kg. Am i doing something wrong or should i stop worrying? I haven’t made any diet changes, all i try to do is eat enough protein. I do eat candy, soda, fastfood and chips every once in a while, but i did so back when i was staying a constistent weight as well. Any tips?

I’d really like to loose the weight. Ideally i’d be 65kg but it’s rather unrealistic since i was like 13 the last time i was that weight. I have a lot more curves now (and more muscle) so trying to fit into my tween body would be harmful. Right now as a realistic goal i’d like to be under 70kg, but more importantly, healthy. Losing some fat, which i have gained a little i think, would be nice.
