Is it okay to use light weights for some of the workout that heavy weights are to much to correctly do the exercise? I’m trying to move up from 2 10 pound weight to 20 pound weights but some exercises I can’t do with the heavier ones right now, will using the lighter weights help me build up to the heavier ones if I switch out on certain exercises or does it do nothing but hold me back? My bf said I should just use the heavy weights for everything but I physically cannot do certain moves with them yet like I can with the lighter weights.
