Recommemdations on weights in booty challenges / glute activation issues?

Hi everyone! ❤️
I'm happy to say I have been working out with Chloe for quite a long time (8 years now). I've had some breaks in frequent working out due to my Hashimoto's (sometimes feeling low and physically drained).
I am back on track for some time now and right now I'm somewhere in the middle of 2021 Hourglass Challenge because I want to grow my glutes a bit more. I've started working out immediately with a light band and medium weight dumbbell. The problem is even if I do struggle through the workouts, I still do not feel proper burn and, more importantly, muscle soreness the day after.
I tried switching to a heavier dumbbell and a medium band but I am not able to perform excercises with a good form using them, so it is pointless, right?
I am doing glute activation excercises after each warm up, and do my best to keep muscle-mind connection (I sometimes even check if my muscles contract well by touching them bc I don't trust da booty - "muscle-hand" connection is required 😂).
By now I am a bit concerned if it is possible that my performance is counterproductive and will cause a loss of volume in my booty (even if I eat enough) or my hamstrings would grow bigger. . .

By the way: abs and arms are getting a nice shape and are WAAAAAY stronger, so 2021 Hourglass works perfectly with them and is totally worth the sweat!

Any hints? Can someone relate?
I am really looking forward for any help, guys. :(
