Hi everyone! đ
Iâm 31 years old and a mum to three wonderful children.
During the pandemic, I discovered Chloeâs workouts, and they genuinely changed my life. I managed to lose around 14 kg and, for the first time in a long time, I felt motivated to take care of myself and become more active.
However, life happened. In 2021, I finished law school, and in 2022 I became pregnant with my third child. I stopped exercising, and unfortunately, I eventually found myself back at square one.
Iâm a lawyer, so my job is extremely busy and, unfortunately, very sedentary. I spend hours sitting at my desk, and on top of that, my three-year-old son is quite the little handful! đ
Somewhere along the way, I stopped making time for myself and for exercise.
As a result, I gained around 30 kg during my pregnancy and the years that followed.
For quite some time now, Iâve been feeling increasingly tired, drained and unhappy with how inactive my life has become. I know I need to make a change, not just to lose weight, but to feel healthier, stronger and happier, both physically and mentally.
And then, about a month ago, I fractured my foot, specifically the 5th metatarsal, after a simple fall on a pavement. It was a completely ordinary fall from my own height, but unfortunately, my body is now dealing with the consequences of carrying considerably more weight than it used to.
This injury has made me realise even more strongly that I need to start taking care of myself again.
I want to get back into exercise and work towards rebuilding a healthier body and a healthier mind. â€ïž
However, I obviously donât want to do anything that could interfere with the healing of my foot or delay my recovery. So Iâm starting from the beginning and trying to figure out what kind of exercises I can safely do while recovering from a foot fracture.
Thatâs why I wanted to say hello to this wonderful community and ask for your advice. đ„°
For those of you who have gone through a foot or 5th metatarsal fracture, what exercises did you do while recovering? What types of workouts would you recommend that donât put weight or unnecessary stress on the injured foot?
Iâm especially interested in exercises that I can do from a seated or lying position, or anything else that is suitable during recovery.
I know everyoneâs recovery is different, and I will of course follow my doctor/physiotherapistâs advice. Iâm just looking for ideas and inspiration from people who have been through something similar.
Iâve spent a long time putting myself last. I think itâs finally time to change that. â€ïž
So⊠hello, everyone! đ And thank you in advance for any advice, encouragement or experiences youâre willing to share! đ
