Weak wrists, any advice?

Lower plank exercises are a bit rough on my wrists (specially my right one), my entire right side of my body is weaker due to an injury I had years ago (don't worry, I've talked to several doctors and they all said it was ok for me to work my body). Now, is there a safe way to make them stronger? . Thanks in advance! .
