What to do when on period.

Firstly is it normal for your period to get delayed by a few days due to exercise? I was 4/5 days late. Also i skipped two days due to being in a lot of pain on my first and second day of the period. Is it fine? I didn’t want to mess up the schedule so i am really sad about it. 😞
