Hourglass 2023 Complete - Results!

I recently finished the hourglass 2023 challenge and I'm here with results for you all!!! Are you ready? Here's what happened over my 26 day journey.

First though, thank you to my wonderful teammates for showing up everyday, being super supportive and helping me have my first successful team! You are awesome and I will happily team with you again!!

In the beginning I couldn't do windshield wipers, was using 10lb dumbbells for arm and leg exercises, a medium resistance band, could barely do 6 knee step ups and could only do the reverse plank for the full time. On day 5 I increased my resistance band and was able to do one extra step up. By day 11 I was holding planks for the full time and almost completing my plank twists. I was also able to add negative resistance to my arms and back exercises. On day 12 I was able to increase my weights for lower body exercises including glute bridges 🍑 On day 15 I realized my recovery time was getting shorter and I wasn't pausing for longer breaks as much. I also noticed my inner thigh muscles were forming and could see visual fat loss and toning in my calves. On day 18 I was able to increase my arms and shoulder weights and had a major breakthrough on actually feeling my lower abs activate and take over some of the leg work in lower ab exercises. Day 19 BULGARIAN SPLIT SQUAT ACHIEVED! I did it! I freaking did it! No weights but I did 8 reps on each side and that's 16 more split squats than zero! Then the craziest thing happened on day 22 - KNEES TO SQUAT UNLOCKED!!! Are you kidding me? Last time I tried them I fell over every attempt, on this day I did five on each side, later showed my roommates I was able to do it and did 4 more! 😝😝😝 By the last day of the challenge I was doing 10 kneeling step ups, using my heaviest dumbells for upper and lower body work, adding negative resistance to that, I upped my resistance band again and I'm feeling stronger than I ever imagined I could in such a short time at home. Oh! And I can do those d*mned windshield wipers now!

Also just a quick reminder weight loss is not linear, the scale isn't always your friend but your tape measure and pictures won't lie to you. It's not so much about the goal weight, it is the goal appearance we are striving for. There is no set perfect weight as we are all built differently and carry the weight of muscle and fat in different ways.

Eat your food, stay hydrated, tell the scale it's a liar on bad days, stay consistent, don't listen to the negative voices and above all love and honor yourself!!! There is only one you and you are special just as you are!

I hope you are encouraged, motivated and maybe if you've been debating, you'll choose this challenge for yourself next! 🏋‍♀️💥💯⌛️
