Mid Year Journey

Mid Year Journey

My journey

It's getting closer to a year since I got back into working out - and it's genuinely changed my life in so many ways.
I trust myself more, I'm healthier, I'm happier and more confident. It gave me the understanding that I crave routine.

I've been pretty consistent, exercising at least three days a week except for a couple weeks during finals. I used to work out 4 days a week minimum for the first six months but I didn't have time or motivation afterwards. I'm glad I still stuck with it. I went from bodyweight workouts to weights to a combination of running and weights.

I went from about 60kg to about 53kg. I'm actually under my ideal set weight now, so I need to work on gaining muscle and eating more protein (and more in general).
I do love that I fit into some of my old clothes now, that is an accomplishment to me.

But that's not why I'm doing it. I'm doing it, first and foremost, to be healthier. And that's what I keep reminding myself of. It's not just for looks or strength or for a vacation - those are all good motivators for a short time. But it's for me when I'm 50 and can comfortably get up. When I'm 70 and don't need help getting out of bed. :)

I don't know what the point of this rant was, I guess I'm just happy I'm planning to be even more consistent again:D
