The 2020 hourglass challenge - results and thoughts

Hello everyone! Last post I made was about me finishing the 2019 2 week shred with great results. I'm here to report that I have now (almost) finished the 2020 hourglass challenge - doing the last workout today, can't measure results tomorrow as I'm going away early in the morning and don't have time.

Let's start with results. I lost 1.2 kg during this challenge, 0,8 kg of that being fat and 0,2 kg being muscle according to my fitness watch. In addition to this, changes in my measurements haven't been quite as drastic as after the shred, but some progress have been made:

Waist: lost 0.5 cm
Belly: lost 0.5 cm
Chest: lost 1 cm
Thigh: lost 1 cm
Calf: lost 1.5 cm
Upper arm: no change
Neck: lost 0.5 cm
Glutes: lost 1.5 cm

I also took pictures, and honestly see no difference at all. The lighting is also very different, and I think that a lot of my focus when looking at pictures is around the belly area, whem it seems like my body has been taking fat from elsewhere this time around. It's also that time of the month which probably contributes to it.

This isn't a weight loss challenge, and I was thinking a lot about wether this was the challenge for me before going into it. I think, due to the nature of my job, it was wise to choose something low-impact this time. It's been nice with some variety between walking and strength training. This challenge was more enjoyable than the 2 week shred, I do prefer strength training over cardio, but I probably wouldn't do this challenge again. Chloe has so many hourglass challenges and I think some of the newer ones would be more effective for me.
It's hard to not feel discouraged when I don't reach the results I want, aka losing more fat around the belly, but I know that my body is gonna do what it's gonna do and I'm just here for the ride. It'll be nice with a little break now.
I'm going on vacation! After that, my plan is to start the 2020 flat tummy challenge (ugh cardio lol). I'm also starting on a new medication then (antidepressant) so everything is subjekt to change depending on my mood, but I think having a challenge is going to help. I chose this challenge because I wanted something weight loss based after this last one, and because it starts off a bit slower with one video a day which seems like a good way to ease into it. I will report back when I'm done with that!
