New food tab! lets gooooo!!! 💜💜💜
I've been on the fall time GRIND finding the best "fall" recipes from the recipe section of this app. I've still got a ways to go, but now there's this specific section for food... who knows? 💕
So as a little preface, obviously the app doesn't specify recipes to a specific season. To determine "fall" recipes I searched up ingredients that signify the season to me. They were: mushroom, pumpkin, squash types, and apple 🍎
Sadly I don't think mushrooms photograph super well but here's what happened:
Pumpkin pie overnight oats-5/10 idk i needed to heat this up to enjoy it. It wasn't sweet enough for me either. I'm considering trying this again as a chia pudding. I feel like I eat 200% more chia pudding bc of chloes recipes, Its just so reliable ❣️
Apple pie pancakes- 8/10 (controversial) so i like a rubbery pancake and that doesn't bother me. but we can chalk up the denseness to skill or the vegan substitutes. Probably a bit of both if I'm being honest. The apple used was also very big, so there may have been a poor ratio of wet to dry when making it. The topping is really what makes this! Still delicious and i topped mine with a plant based sugar free carmel instead of maple syrup because I don't like too much sugar in the morning.
Enoki wraps- 10/10 the original recipe has these wrapped in steak but i used tofu skins instead! You can follow the recipe almost exactly the same with them! These were very good, I love enoki 😍 i just wish they didn't get stuck in your teeth so much 😅 good recipe, very simple, requires an aisan market that will sell you tofu skin to make it veg, but totally worth it! 💗
Mushroom fried rice- 7/10 I've never been a big fried rice fan. This is very savory, and has a very meaty taste despite being vegan. If you're a fan of fried rice, I do reccomend it though! ✨️
Mushroom and pumpkin Bruschetta- 7/10 🎃 this has got to be the most "fall" savory dish I've ever seen 😍 pumpkin as a base for a Mushroom topping??? I felt like pulling up Over The Garden Wall just because of this meal. It was pretty good, definetly a very adventurous recipe/meal. We paired it with a tofu scramble to include more protien. If I remake this (which I probably will tomorrow) I'm going to cut up the mushrooms into smaller pieces. That and leaving out nutmeg would be my main changes for this.🧡🧡🧡🧡
