I'm homeschooled and sheltered so my parents would never let me go to a prom (even if it was a homeschool prom) so every year I stew in envy as I watch all these people buy their dresses. Then I get to hear about it and see all the pictures of this magical night they had. It literally ruins my day. Even if I could go to a dance it's not like I'd have any fun because I don't know anybody and no guy is going to want to dance with me. I'm not lucky like that, (or at all).  Whenever I think about it i have to hold back tears just because the mere thought of my teen years being as boring as a restricted 80 year olds last years makes me upset. 

Next year's summer is my last chance to go to camp (teen extreme, falls creek etc...) and go to any dances so when I turn 18 and my parents don't have a say in what I do anymore I FULLY intend to go to prom. 
I don't know I just needed to get this out there and tell SOMEONE how I'm feeling because nobody on in my house understands because my mom came in SECOND for homecoming queen and my dad went to a public school so he went to dances. 
Can anyone tell me what to do about this?
