Stomach Gripping/ Hourglass Syndrome

I just learned about this. I’ve always had a crease in my stomach and a small pooch, over the years it’s only gotten more and more pronounced. I’ve been sucking in my gut since like 3rd grade, I’m 25 now. I learned that doing this 24/7 will give you that odd B/b abdomen shape that no exercise seems to get rid of. It slowly increases your upper abs, while the lower abs become weaker and may cause pelvic and stomach problems. I never knew about this, and it can cause long term damage. I just wanted to share for anyone else who might relate or find it helpful. There’s exercises for it and if you really need it, physical therapy. But mostly it’s just about releasing your abdomen from what I’ve read.
I only learned about this yesterday, which coincidentally was my last day of the Summer Shred 2025 program. I was proud of my progress but not satisfied and I for some reason decided to google if it’s bad to suck in your gut all the time. I’m really trying to take care of my health and I decided it would be ultimately good to start releasing my gut which will hopefully only help me in the long run. But now it looks like I weigh 15~ pounds heavier in my stomach and it really messed me up for the rest of the day because I felt like all my progress was instantly lost. But I’m hoping that releasing and retraining my full abdomen to flex and relax the way it’s meant to, will eventually lead me to the shape that I want. I have really bad body dysmorphia, so this was a very big step for me. It’s uncomfortable and I don’t like it, but I want to be kinder to my body.
Idk if this will apply to anyone, but it’s not a well known thing so if you think you relate, I’d recommend a quick google search.
