Working out while depressed

Hi everyone,

I've come to ask for help to stay motivated and disciplined while going through depression.

I have schizoaffective disorder (bipolar + schizophrenia) and I find it really difficult to workout when my mood is too low. When I feel energised one week, I feel terrible the next.

Yet the pain of being overweight should be enough to make me take action.

I've gained 35kg (77 lbs) in eight months because of my treatment, so I've changed my medication, seen a nutritionist and a dietician, joined Weight Watchers, and am maintaining a calorie deficit at the same time, but I still have a lot of kilos to lose to get back to my normal weight (I was 52kg for 1m64) (114 lbs for 5’4). Not being able to complete a challenge on schedule makes me feel like a looser. And even though I see a psychiatrist every week, I'm ashamed of myself and my body.

I know you can't give me psychological advice, but could you give me some advice on perseverance? I'd like to finally feel strong, powerful and beautiful. To feel capable.

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the long message.
