Parcook Brussels sprouts by steaming them for 5 minutes.
Let Brussels sprouts cool down slightly, then smash them using the bottom of a drinking glass or a heavy object with a flat bottom.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F / 200°C.
Drizzle olive oil and sprinkle garlic powder, salt and pepper all over Brussels sprouts. Toss to coat evenly.
Cook in air fryer for 10 minutes or until golden and crispy.
Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over Brussels sprouts if using. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
Notes
If you want the Brussels sprouts to be extra crunchy, you may put them back in the air fryer for 5 minutes after topping with grated parmesan.
For vegan or non-dairy, simply omit the parmesan or substitute with a plant-based alternative.
If you don't have an air fryer, you can also make these in the oven. Simply bake in a preheated oven at 420°F / 220°C for 10 minutes, then flip and bake for another 10 minutes or until golden and crispy.
