Ingredients (2-4 servings)
MetricImperial
50g popcorn kernels
1 tsp oil
Cheesy Dorito seasoning
3 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp cumin
-Pinch of salt
Cool ranch seasoning
1/2 tsp dried dill
1/2 tsp dried chives
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
-Pinch of salt
-Pinch of pepper
Furikake seasoning
2 tbsp furikake
Make the seasonings
Using a mortar and pestle, grind up the seasonings.
Make popcorn
Place the popcorn kernels and oil in a large microwave safe bowl and stir until each kernel is covered with oil. Cover the bowl with a vented lid. Alternatively, cover the bowl with parchment paper and secure with a rubber band, then poke a few holes with a knife.
Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until the popping slows down to 1-2 seconds between pops.
Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave. Let cool slightly, then toss popcorn with your preferred seasoning (or try all three of them!)
Notes
Make sure you use a lid with a vent otherwise it might explode from the pressure build-up!
Take care not to burn yourself when removing the bowl from the microwave as it will be very hot.
If your seasonings aren't sticking to the popcorn, spray the popcorn lightly with cooking spray before tossing with seasoning. Another tip is to make sure the seasonings are ground up to a fine powder before tossing!
