Ingredients (2-4 servings)

MetricImperial
50g popcorn kernels
1 tsp oil
Cheesy Dorito seasoning
3 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp cumin
-Pinch of salt
Cool ranch seasoning
1/2 tsp dried dill
1/2 tsp dried chives
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
-Pinch of salt
-Pinch of pepper
Furikake seasoning
2 tbsp furikake

Make the seasonings

  1. Using a mortar and pestle, grind up the seasonings.

Make popcorn

  1. Place the popcorn kernels and oil in a large microwave safe bowl and stir until each kernel is covered with oil. Cover the bowl with a vented lid. Alternatively, cover the bowl with parchment paper and secure with a rubber band, then poke a few holes with a knife.
  2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until the popping slows down to 1-2 seconds between pops.
  3. Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave. Let cool slightly, then toss popcorn with your preferred seasoning (or try all three of them!)
Notes
  • Make sure you use a lid with a vent otherwise it might explode from the pressure build-up!
  • Take care not to burn yourself when removing the bowl from the microwave as it will be very hot.
  • If your seasonings aren't sticking to the popcorn, spray the popcorn lightly with cooking spray before tossing with seasoning. Another tip is to make sure the seasonings are ground up to a fine powder before tossing!
