A warm bowl of miso soup is so comforting and nourishing. Making your own at home is actually super quick and easy. All you need is 5 minutes and a handful of ingredients. Give this recipe a go and never go back to the packet stuff again!

240ml dashi
1 tbsp miso paste
20g cubed soft tofu
2g dried wakame
-Chopped green onion
Add dashi to a pot and bring to a boil over medium heat. Then, reduce heat to low.
In a small bowl, add miso paste and 2-3 tbsp of the hot dashi. Stir to dissolve miso paste.
Add miso mixture back to the pot.
Stir in tofu and wakame.
Remove from heat. Garnish with green onion and serve immediately. Enjoy!
Notes
Dashi is a Japanese soup stock. If you don’t have dashi or don’t want to buy it because you don’t use it often, you may substitute with dashi powder. Simply dissolve 0.5-1 tsp dashi powder in 240ml water to make instant dashi.
You may substitute the soft tofu and wakame or add any other optional mix in’s such as firm tofu, tofu pocket strips, spinach, mushrooms, etc.
Make sure you don’t overcook the soup after adding miso paste in order to preserve the taste and nutrients of miso.
