These chipotle spiced nuts are smoky, savory, and so flavorful. This recipe uses a secret ingredient so no oil is needed for the seasoning to stick! The perfect high-protein snacks to have on hands for when you’re feeling peckish!

Ingredients (8 servings)

4 cups raw nuts
1 egg white
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/8 tsp ground cumin
1/8 tsp oregano
1/4 garlic powder
2 tsp fine sea salt
1 tbsp brown sugar
  1. Preheat the oven to 300ºF / 150ºC and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add egg white and whisk until foamy.
  3. Whisk in all the spices and seasonings.
  4. Add raw nuts and mix until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Transfer nuts to lined baking tray. Arrange them in a single layer. Bake for 15 minutes.
  6. Take nuts out of the oven and give everything a stir. Reduce oven temperature to 250ºF / 120ºC and return nuts to the oven for another 5 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove nuts from the oven and let cool completely before storing in an airtight container in a cool and dry area. Enjoy!
Notes
  • The nuts will keep in an airtight container in a cool and dry area for up to 2 weeks.
  • The egg white allows the spices and seasoning to stick without the need for additional oil. Don’t skip it!
  • For the nuts I used a mix of almonds, macadamia nuts, cashews and petitas, Feel free to use any nuts or seeds that you like, just make sure they are raw.
  • Feel free to replace brown sugar with any granulated sweetener of choice.
