A delicious sashimi bowl that you can't resist! It tastes just like what you get in a Japanese restaurant! It's healthy, full of protein and you can add more vegetables on the side.

Ingredients (2 servings)

MetricImperial
Component
400g cooked sushi rice
80g salmon sashimi
80g kingfish sashimi (optional)
80g tuna sashimi (optional)
-Seaweed Salad
-Scallop Salad (optional)
-Tamagoyaki
Dressing:
-Soy sauce
-Wasabi (optional)
-Furikake (optional)

Component

  1. Prepare sushi rice in advance.
  2. Slice sashimi and keep it cool. You can cut them into smaller cubes and marinate it with some soy sauce and mirin if you like to. I prefer to have them fresh and add soy sauce only when served.
  3. You can make tamagoyaki yourself or you could buy it from Japanese grocery store. Similarly you can get seaweed and scallop salad from there too.
  4. Add your other favourite vegetables if you wish to i.e. cucumber, avocado etc.
Notes
  • For sushi rice, use Japanese short grain rice. You can also use brown rice if you prefer.
  • To make sushi rice: cook 1 cup of Japanese short grain rice using a rice cooker or over the stove then set it aside to cool slightly. In a bowl, mix 1/4 cup of rice vinegar, a few drops of stevia or sweetener and 1 tsp of of salt, then add it to the rice and mix well.
  • Feel free to use other fish, shrimp or seafood!
  • Tamagoyaki is a Japanese rolled omelet.
  • Seaweed salad and tamagoyaki is not necessary but they make the dish more delicious!
  • If you're using one type of fish then increase the quantity for that fish.
